Fenstanton Primary School

As of Thursday 1st March, the Gipsy Hill Federation began to provide intensive support to Fenstanton Primary School. As such Fenstanton had two emergency closure days on Monday 12th March and Tuesday 13th March which enabled our Federation Senior Team to take Fenstanton colleagues through intensive training focussing on our core procedures.

Currently, the school is due to be demolished and the children and staff will move into a brand new building in May 2013. In order to minimise any disruption to the pupils in Year 5 and to allow them to achieve well in their KS2 SATs tests next year and better support their transition at the end of primary school, all three Fenstanton Year 5 classes, their teachers and support staff will transfer to Kingswood Upper Site from Wednesday 14th March. They remain at Kingswood Upper Site for the remainder of the academic year and for the whole of Year 6. The Fenstanton pupils have been provided with new school uniform and will be transported over daily by coach.

Crawford Primary School

Colleagues from across the Federation have done a fantastic job supporting improvements at Crawford Primary School. They have supported weekly curriculum planning, staff training, curriculum development and very recently supported the school through a successful inspection in which Crawford has been removed from Special Measures. This followed just one term of extremely intensive work which has now placed the school in a strong position to build on this achievement and move forward positively.
