Yr 6 SATs Breakfast

All Year 6 children will be able to arrive at school from 8am during SATs week. This is to give them time to prepare themselves for the exams and chat with friends.

A free hot breakfast will also be provided for them during this week as well, so that they can get the best possible start to the day.

Please make sure that your child arrives to school no later than 8:20am. Thank you.

Year 2 SATs Exams

The Year 6 children will be sitting their SATs exams all through the week of 14th May.

Tuck Shop Sales

The Kingswood Yr 5 children and Friends of Kingswood will be running Tuck Shops in the bottom hall at the Kingswood Upper site for the next 4 Fridays starting on 27th April.

The shops will be open from 3:15 until 4:15pm, and the money raised will be shared between the Yr 5 residential trip to France and those staying behind so that they can have enrichment projects of their own.

Polling Day

Kingswood and Elm Wood will be closed to children on Thursday 3rd May as both schools are polling stations. However, in order to minimise any disruption to our Yr 6 children and the Yr 5 children from Fenstanton, they will come to the Kingswood Upper site and take lessons as normal.

These children should bring a packed lunch with them to school on this day.

Easter Revision Camp

The Year 6 Easter Revision Camp will be taking place at the Kingswood Upper Site on 11-13th April. The Crawford Year 6 children will be brought to Kingswood by coach and then taken back to Crawford Primary School at the end of the day.

Children will be provided with breakfast on each day.

Easter Break Up

School will finish early on Friday 30th March as we break up for the Easter Holidays.

Kingswood Upper site, Elm Wood, Paxton and Crawford will finish at 2pm.

Kingswood Lower site will finish at 2:15pm.

There will be no Extended Services running on that day, however After School Club will be running for those parents who require the service.

Strike Day - 28th March

Due to the strike action called by the National Union of Teachers (NUT) on Wednesday 28th March the Kingswood Upper Site will be closed to ALL children, this includes breakfast and after school club provision.

The following classes on the Kingswood Lower Site will be CLOSED to children:

Nursery - Robin class
Nursery - Starling class
Year 1 Swan
Year 1 Woodpecker

All other classes on the Kingswood Lower Site will be OPEN.

Elm Wood and Paxton will be OPEN as normal to all children.

Maths Fun Day

Maths Fun Day will be taking place on Friday 23rd March, during Science and Technology Week. All children will take part in a fun filled day of class based maths activities aimed at inspiring children to take a fresh and creative approach to maths.

Science and Technology Week

Monday 19th March to Friday 23rd March is our annual Science and Technology Week. Our theme this year is Energy and Change and there are lots of exciting acitivities planned for all classes throughout the week.

There will be specialist workshops, theatre productions and assemblies as well as practical sessions which will integrate science and Design and Technology.

The week will end with a display of all the learning from each year group in the main school hall on all sites. Parents are invited to come along at the end of the school day on Friday 23rd March to share your child's learning.

Fenstanton Primary School

Book Week

This week is our annual Book Week. During this week children will learn about a variety of traditional tales and take part in workshops such as writing, performances, author and illustrator visits.

On Friday 9th March the children are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. This is optional and not a dress down day. Children who do not wish to dress as a book character should come to school in normal school uniform.

SATs Parents' Forum

Christmas Special Leave

The Federation does authorise leave, but only in exceptional circumstances. We will not authorise and extention of Christmas holidays for families to spend extra time with relatives abroad. If you do decide to extend a family holiday you risk not only a fine of £50 per child, but you also risk losing your child's place at our schools.

On Friday 16th December Kingswood Upper site, Elm Wood and Paxton will be finishing at 2pm. Kingswood Lower site will be finishing at 2:15pm.

As such, there will be no Extended Services or School Friends After School Club running on that day. After School Care will still be running on both of the Kingswood sites.

This year only Years 1 and 2 will be performing a Christmas production, all other year groups will be having a Christmas arts and crafts afternoon followed by mince pies for parents. Please make a note of when your child's celebrations will be taking place.

World Week

As part of World Week there will be International Food Festivals happening across all sites - Thursday 24th November on the Kingswood Upper site and Friday 25th November on the Kingswood Lower, Elm Wood and Paxton sites. Parents are invited to bring in dishes or just come along try some new food!

Strike Action

On Wednesday 30th November many public sector workers, including many teacher's unions will be taking strike action. As a result, Kingswood (both the Upper and Lower sites) will be closed on this day.

World Week

During the week of 21st November we will celebrating World Week across the Federation. There will be a variety of workshops taking place, an international dress fashion show and the week will end with an international food festival.
